Experience Eco-Luxury at Bawah Reserve, Indonesia’s Hidden Paradise

Tucked away in Indonesia’s lush Anambas archipelago, Bawah Reserve is a unique private island eco-resort packed with luxury and adventure. The resort, named after the island’s original name “Bawah”, is located in a previously uninhabited marine conservation zone, encompassing five lush, forested islands, three sheltered lagoons, and 13 pristine beaches, creating a secluded haven far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

36 exquisitely crafted villas are scattered around the island, each hand-built using natural materials such as bamboo, driftwood, and recycled teak, putting forward locally sourced materials wherever possible. Sustainability practices are seen down to the details, such as the recycled copper sinks and showers used for the bathroom that add a touch of rustic elegance to the luxurious accommodations.

Throughout their stay, guests can partake in various activities offered by the resort. Water sports lovers can take kayaks, paddleboards, and boat trips to explore nearby islands. The resort also has pilates and yoga classes, private picnics in secluded locations, and Indonesian dance lessons.

Embracing a barefoot and back-to-nature concept, Bawah Reserve stands out for its commitment to sustainability, proudly positioning itself as a pioneer in combining advanced technology with ecological conservation. The resort utilizes solar power through panels that float in the lagoon, generating clean electricity. Single-use plastics are restricted and water preservation practices are strictly followed. Additionally, the resort is dedicated to marine conservation, ensuring the protection and longevity of the surrounding natural environment.

The journey to Bawah Reserve is an exciting adventure in itself. After arriving at Batam’s Hang Nadim International Airport, an airport escort will guide you to a second flight aboard an amphibious seaplane for an additional 1 hour and 20 minutes, delivering you directly to the paradise that is Bawah Reserve.
