From Songbird to Healer

Over the past 11 years, Andira Utami has been recognized for many different things. In the late 2010s, she was a singer whose presence graced Indonesian TV shows, radios, and stages. But these days, Andira is an inspiring doctor, medical entrepreneur, and CEO proudly carrying the title “dr. Andira”.
While her love for music remains strong, her passion for medicine has led her to a thriving career as a doctor. After earning her medical degree from Universitas Kristen Indonesia in 2017, Andira continues to flourish in the healthcare industry, with her clinical expertise and role as the Expert Staff of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises giving her well-rounded experience in the field.
Determined to make healthcare accessible to everyone, Andira launched the Livewell app in 2022. The app aims to provide users with personalized health information and services based on their current conditions. By leveraging advanced technology such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, Livewell analyses each user’s daily habits related to nutrition, exercise, sleep quality, hydration, and mood. "What inspired me to create Livewell is so that I can make health accessible to everyone. I want to make health inclusive and not intimidating so that everyone can and wants to be healthier," she shared proudly.
Reflecting on her journey, dr. Andira believes that the Indonesian healthcare system needs to put more focus on women's health and maternal care. ”As a doctor, I have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of women's health challenges and strengths, which drives me to highlight the fact that we need a more comprehensive health framework for women so that they can have better well-being and health access,” she stated, emphasizing her advocacy for increased access to women's healthcare services, more research on maternal health, and greater support and education for women.
In her final message to RAYA Asia, dr. Andira reminds us: "Health is expensive, but sickness is even more costly. Take care of your health because once it's gone, it demands far more time, money, and opportunity to recover."
